Fearon Hay Architects is a design-led studio undertaking a broad range of projects in diverse environments and is engaged in projects on sites around the world.

Tim Hay and Jeff Fearon founded the practice in 1998 as a way to enable their combined involvement in the design and delivery of each project alongside. 

The studio approaches every project with a commitment to design excellence, a thoughtful consideration of site and place, and a sensitive creativity.

Fearon Hay Architects enjoys responding to a range of briefs: Commercial projects for office and workplace, complex heritage environments, public work within the urban realm or wider landscape, private dwellings, and detailed bespoke work for hospitality and interior environments. 

Projects are executed in a variety of places, delivered in locations such as Los Angeles, New Zealand, New York, Santa Fe, San Francisco, Sydney,  Melbourne, Sri Lanka & Patagonia. 

Through our years of practice we have been awarded internationally:

Fearon Hay was awarded AD100 2024 following publication of Rose Bay
House in AD Italia. Est Living Esteemed 10 2024 Architecture Award. The NZ
Architecture Medal, John Scott Supreme Award for Public Architecture, two
World Architecture Awards and recognition with the American Architecture
Prize and Architectural Record’s Record Houses global programme.

Fearon Hay Architects are members of the NZIA (NZ Institute of Architects),
AIA (Australian Institute of Architects) and registered with NZRAB (NZ
Registered Architects Board), ARBV (Architects Registration Board of Victoria)
