Robert McGwier

Co-Founder at Federated Wireless

Robert McGwier has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies.

Robert currently holds a position as an Affiliated Faculty at the University of Scranton.

Previously, they were a Board Member at Amateur Radio Digital Communications and a Co-Founder at Federated Wireless.

At Virginia Tech, they served as an Adjunct Professor, Director of Research for the Hume Center, and a Research Professor of ECE. Robert was also a Faculty Advisor for the Virginia Tech Amateur Radio Association.

In addition, Robert McGwier founded HawkEye 360 and served as a Technical Adviser, focusing on data analytics and reporting services.

Robert has also been involved with various organizations and committees including the IEEE, American Radio Relay League (ARRL), Wireless Innovation Forum, and GnuRadio, where they served as a Developer.

Robert McGwier received their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering from Auburn University, where they attended from 1975 to 1977. Robert later pursued their Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at Brown University, where they studied from 1980 to 1984.
