Lindsey Smith

Lindsey Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Lindsey began their career at James Madison University, where they held multiple roles as a Graduate Advisor, Operations Assistant Coordinator, Orientation Operations Assistant, and Madison Transfer Assistant in the Orientation Office. Lindsey then moved on to the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where they worked as the Coordinator of Student Events, overseeing a team of student Executive Council leaders and Committee members and planning various social and educational programs for the student body.

Afterwards, Lindsey joined Virginia Tech as a Program Manager for the DC I-Corps, a regional program aimed at fostering innovation and facilitating the successful incorporation of innovations into marketable products. Lindsey then transitioned to the National Science Foundation (NSF), where they served as a Teaching Assistant for the NSF Innovation Corps (I-Corps) program, focusing on experiential education in entrepreneurship and industry requirements. Lindsey later became the Lead Teaching Assistant for the NSF Convergence Accelerator (C-ACCEL) program, supporting convergence research projects in areas of national importance.

Currently, Lindsey is Head Of Operations at FedTech, a private venture program that connects entrepreneurs with technologies developed across federal agencies. In this role, they oversee the program's cohorts, which involve pairing successful applicants with lab partners and inventors, as well as providing teaching and mentorship on various startup-related topics.
