Dave Weber is currently a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Feedonomics. Dave has also worked with EdgeCast Networks as a Core Software Engineer and Shopzilla as a Senior Software Engineer. Dave has written self-healing automation scripts in python and perl to maintain 1000's of servers to free up System support operators to do more important things. Dave has also supported metric collection, ingestion, and presentation for all servers in the enterprise as well as evaluated various noSql solutions for trended metric collection. While working at Shopzilla, Dave assisted in design and development of a feed processing software in Java to handle 150M+ product offers to prepare them for indexing and publication to Shopzilla's many web presences. Dave employed a Voltdb noSQL ACID compliant database for storing offers enriched with metadata and supported a Hadoop workflow to extract offers from Voltdb and transform them into publishable form. Dave also implemented monitoring solutions with OpenTSDB and python while supporting image processing software using perl, C++, mod_perl, apache web server, and Amazon S3. Furthermore, Dave supported legacy feed processing software implemented in Java and reliant upon Sybase, AmpQ, RabbitMQ, and Oracle. Lastly, Dave used Hadoop to aid color-recognition in support of company web sites that use color for filtering offers. Hive was used to support research and analysis of in-house language recognition software.
Dave Weber completed a certificate of completion in J-STD-001ES Application Specialist from the College of the Canyons ETI. Dave then went on to study Computer Science at California State University, Northridge. Finally, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
They are on a team with Nate Schlossberg - VP, Engineering, Jason Nichol - VP, Product, and Brian Woolf - Director of Information Technology and Security. Dave Weber reports to Robert Roizen, Chief Technology Officer.
