Femme & Them is a small, fully remote psychotherapy group in Washington State built around relationship centered care. We work primarily with queer and trans adults, teens, tweens, parents, partners, polycules, and chosen families.

Our clinicians practice therapy as a relational process rather than a scripted intervention. Sessions are collaborative and creative, and grounded in the therapeutic relationship.

Many clients arrive after feeling misunderstood in prior care, or after finding structured techniques alone did not create meaningful change.

Our work includes helping clients understand how systemic issues show up in our relationships, nervous system responses, and sense of self. Therapy focuses on increasing agency, resolving trauma patterns, and supporting people in showing up more fully and authentically in their lives.

Our clinical culture values authenticity and presence. Therapists are encouraged to bring warmth, curiosity, creativity, and thoughtful use of self while maintaining clear ethical boundaries. Countertransference, uncertainty, and mistakes are discussed as part of our learning processes.

We name the impact of racism, ableism, misogyny, cisnormativity, heteronormativity, and neuronormativity and integrate these into case conceptualization.

Supervision and consultation are core to practice here. We support clinicians in forming clinical identity and developing independence in session while weaving interconnectedness in our clinical community. Paid supervision and group consultation focus on our clinical work, judgment, and integrating individual care with relational and broader contexts. Although we work remotely, we do not work in isolation.

We believe therapy can hold grief, anger, relief, and humor at the same time. Moments of laughter, creativity, and curiosity are part of the work.
