Michael Downer

Dr. Downer received the B.A. degree in Physics from University of Rochester in 1976, the M.A. degree in Physics and Philosophy from Oxford University in 1978 and the Ph.D. degree in Applied Physics from Harvard University in 1983. Dr. Downer completed his postdoc at AT&T Bell Labs in 1985. He is a University Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Department of Physics, UT Austin. Dr. Downer is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the Optical Society of America.
