Michael Flood has worked in a variety of roles since 2004. Michael began their career as an Architectural Intern at Roger J Wilson Architect in 2004. In 2011, they moved to the Office of Public Works as a Property Surveyor, where they conducted occupancy surveys of state-owned and leased buildings, measured surveys and refits, and compiled a database of property details. In 2013, they joined Dervan Engineering Consultants Ltd as an IT Intern, where they assisted in server maintenance, website design, and IT troubleshooting, as well as CAD draughting on projects ranging from M&E fit outs to data centres and hospital upgrading. Since 2017, they have worked as a BIM Applications Manager at FenestraPro.

Michael Flood has an extensive education history. Michael obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Architecture from University College Dublin (UCD) between 1996 and 2001. Michael then went on to obtain a Diploma in Collaborative BIM from Technological University Dublin between 2015 and 2016. Prior to this, they obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Building Information Technology (BIM) from Technological University Dublin between 2014 and 2015. In 2013 and 2014, they obtained Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching Certification, A+ Certification, and City and Guilds from College of Computer Training. Michael also obtained a Diploma - Distinction in Architectural Technology/Technician from Munster Technological University between 1993 and 1996. Lastly, they obtained a Bachelor's Architectural Science in Architecture from University College Dublin. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained an Introduction to Navisworks 2016 from Autodesk in November 2016 and a Cisco CCNA from Cisco.
