Peter Zaitsev

Peter Zaitsev has extensive work experience in the database industry. Peter is the Founder and CEO of Percona, a company they co-founded in 2006 with a focus on providing better value and performance for customers. Percona has grown significantly and now employs more than 180 experts in over 30 countries, serving over 3,000 customers.

Zaitsev is also involved in other ventures, including being a Co-Founder and Member of the Board at FerretDB, a Co-Founder and Member of the Board at Altinity, a Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board at Ivinco, and serving as a Board Member at Sphinx Technologies Inc. Peter is also a Board Member and MyEO Chair at EO Raleigh Durham and a Founder and Board Member at the Open Database Alliance.

In addition to their entrepreneurial roles, Zaitsev serves as an Advisor at Tigris Data Inc and EdgeDB. Peter is passionate about open-source databases and has contributed to the development and standardization of open-source databases through their involvement in various organizations and associations, such as the Open Database Alliance.

Peter Zaitsev pursued their education in Computer Science from 1996 to 2001 at Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), where they obtained a Masters degree.
