Simon Read

Simon Read has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Simon currently holds the position of Principal Scientist at Ferring Pharmaceuticals since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Statens Serum Institut as a Project Liaison Manager from 2017 to 2022, where they facilitated out-licensing of scientific discoveries and supported business strategy and deal-making. Before that, they had various roles at Novo Nordisk, including Specialist, Project Manager, and Senior Scientist, where they provided experimental support, led multidisciplinary teams, and contributed to disease biology understanding. Simon also worked as a Post-Doc Career Development Fellow at the Medical Research Council - NIMR from 2005 to 2007, a Post-Doc Research Assistant at The University of Melbourne from 2002 to 2005, and a Wellcome Post-Doc Research Fellow at the University of Oxford from 2001 to 2002.

Simon Read earned their Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science: Biochemistry from the University of Oxford from 1988 to 1992. Simon then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cellular Immunology and Immune Regulation at the same institution from 1997 to 2000.
