Melvin Griffin

Melvin Griffin has a diverse range of work experience. Melvin started their career as a Desk Assistant and later became a Resident Assistant at the University of Alabama Birmingham from 2011 to 2014. Melvin then joined Vans a Division of VF Outdoor as a Stockroom Manager from February 2015 to March 2017 and the University of Alabama at Birmingham as a Distribution Manager from August 2014 to May 2019.

In 2015, Melvin co-founded The Kickback, LLC, a creative collective that aimed to provide a platform for young creatives of color in Birmingham. Melvin served as a Co-Founder and focused on organizing monthly visual art and music showcases, as well as creating digital content.

Melvin then worked at REV Birmingham from January 2018 to October 2020. Melvin initially served as a Community Relations Specialist and Fleet Rebalancer for the Zyp Bikeshare program, managing day-to-day operations and performing maintenance on bikes and stations. Later, they became a Social Media Specialist, responsible for creating engaging content and managing social media channels.

From June 2021 to January 2022, Melvin worked at Landing as a Member Experience Manager, ensuring member satisfaction. Melvin then transitioned to the role of Installation Project Manager from January to October 2022.

Most recently, in January 2023, Melvin joined Fetch as a Support Specialist. Prior to that, from July 2017 to the present, they worked at Elevators as a Culture Cultivator, contributing to the development of a positive work culture.

Throughout their career, Melvin has demonstrated their skills in project management, community relations, social media management, and creating engaging content.

Melvin Griffin completed their high school education at A. H. Parker High School from 2007 to 2010. Melvin then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in History/Anthropology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2010 to 2015.
