John Nunnery is a seasoned academic and administrative leader with extensive experience in educational research and psychology. Currently serving as the Senior Associate Vice President for Research and Professor of Educational Psychology and Research at Old Dominion University since August 2001, Nunnery also holds the position of Executive Director and has previously been an Associate Professor. Nunnery acted as the Executive Director of the Old Dominion University Research Foundation from January 2021 to July 2022 and served as Executive Director at Memphis City Schools from June 1998 to January 2001. Nunnery began a research career as an Associate Research Scientist at Johns Hopkins University from June 1996 to June 1998. Academic credentials include an Ed.D. in Educational Psychology and Research and an M.A.T. in Curriculum and Instruction, both from The University of Memphis, along with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Rhodes College.
