Hal Tily

Hal Tily is an accomplished data science and machine learning professional with extensive experience in advising and leading teams across various industries. Currently serving as an Advisor at Fi since May 2022, Hal provides insights on data strategy and contributes to the development of machine learning-driven product features. Previously, as the first Head of Data Science at Oura from December 2020 to April 2024, Hal built a highly engaged data science team responsible for machine learning algorithms enhancing health features for a million users. Hal also held senior roles at Viome, Netflix, and Nuance Communications, with a strong focus on individualized wellness, recommender systems, and natural language processing. Education includes a PhD in Linguistics from Stanford University, a postdoctoral fellowship at MIT, and a BSc in Artificial Intelligence and Psychology from the University of Birmingham.
