Senior Software Engineer at Fi

Robbie Shade has been working in software engineering since 2005. Robbie began their career as a Student Engineer at Wolfson Microelectronics, followed by a Software Engineering Summer Placement at CERN in 2006. In 2011, Shade joined the six person team at 80,000 Hours as CTO and Lead Developer, where they built and maintained the website and community for over a year. In 2012, Shade joined Google as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked on QUIC, a next generation multiplexed transport protocol. In 2017, Shade moved to Verily Life Sciences as a Senior Software Engineer, and in 2021, they joined Fi - Next Generation Dog Collars as a Senior Software Engineer.

Robbie Shade completed their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Robotics from the University of Oxford between 2007 and 2011. Prior to that, they obtained their Master of Engineering (MEng) in Engineering and Computing Science from the University of Oxford between 2003 and 2007.
