Philip Teoh is a Partner at AZMI & ASSOCIATES, leading the Shipping, Insurance, International Trade, and Arbitration Practice since January 2015. Teoh is qualified to practice in both Singapore and Malaysia and has extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters. In addition to this role, Teoh serves as an Arbitrator for the Gujarat International Maritime Arbitration Centre (GIMAC) and the Brunei Darussalam Arbitration Centre Berhad. Other notable positions include being a Member of the Board of Industry Experts at Maritime Fairtrade, a Committee Member of the Shipping & Admiralty Law Committee of the Malaysian Bar, a Fellow and Editorial Board member at the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution, and a Legal Advisor for FIATA International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations. Teoh also contributes as a Freelance Writer for The Impact Lawyers and as a Technical Writer for The Maritime Executive, alongside serving as an Expert on the Industry Advisory Committee for the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC). Academically, Teoh holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from NUS and a Master’s degree (LL.M.) from the University of Malaya.
