David Walker

David Walker is an advisor to the global forestry and bio-materials industries with 35+ years of professional and investment advisory experience across the forestry, forest products, pulp, paper, packaging, renewable energy and environmental sectors. They are the founder and managing partner of Kauri Capital, an independent strategic and transactional advisory boutique focused on the forest products, renewable energy and environmental sectors, operating globally with a special emphasis on the Asia-Pacific region. They currently hold board roles including Paptic Ltd (2024–Present), Notpla (2024–Present), CarbonPool (2023–Present) and FiberLean Technologies (2025–Present) as well as a senior partner role at UB Forest Industry Green Growth Fund and an advisory board membership for Pictet Timber. They previously served as Managing Director, Head of Global Forest Products at Macquarie Group (2007–2010) and as President Asia-Pacific at Pöyry (1989–2007). They earned a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (Honours) in Accounting and Finance from Victoria University of Wellington (1980–1984).
