Tom Larson

Head of Business Development - Paper and Board at FiberLean Technologies

Tom Larson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Tom started their career as a Customer Advisor at Argos in 2009 and then worked as an Assistant Buyer at Sustainable Furniture Ltd in 2011. In this role, they traveled to trade shows in China to support their family's furniture business.

Tom then joined Imerys in 2010, where they held multiple roles. Tom initially worked as an Analytical Technician in a UKAS accredited analytical chemistry and microscopy services group. Tom'sresponsibilities included following wet chemistry and microscopy procedures for mineral analysis.

Later, Tom became a Laboratory Technician in the technical service division of Imerys, supporting global customers in the paper and packaging industry. Tom carried out experiments using industry-specific testing procedures and played a role in securing new business for Imerys. Additionally, they supported the implementation of Imerys' FiberLean MFC project by participating in laboratory and commercial trials globally.

Tom's last role at Imerys was as a New Product Development Scientist for FiberLean, where they were involved in designing, conducting, analyzing, and reporting product development experiments. Tom also played a lead role in coordinating product evaluation testing and developing new testing procedures.

Currently, Tom Larson is the Head of Business Development - Paper and Board at FiberLean Technologies starting from April 2022. Before this position, they served as the Technology Implementation Manager from 2017 to April 2022 and as a Scientist from May 2016 to January 2017.

Tom Larson attended Truro and Penwith College from 2007 to 2009, where they earned a BTEC National Diploma in Engineering. Tom then pursued further education at The Open University from 2012 to 2017. During this time, they obtained a BSc Natural Science (Honours) with a focus on Chemistry.
