Bill Gavert

Bill Gavert has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering, specializing in electro-optic systems. Bill is currently employed as the Chief Systems Engineer at Fibertek Inc. since November 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Principal Engineer II at BAE Systems from September 2018 to November 2020. Bill also served as a Senior Staff System Engineer at Elbit Systems of America from January 2018 to September 2018.

Before transitioning into senior roles, Bill Gavert held a long-standing position at Fibertek from September 1996 to January 2018, where they started as a Principal Engineer and gradually took on additional responsibilities such as supervisor, lead engineer, systems engineer, and design engineer. Their notable contributions at Fibertek include designing and developing a wide range of electro-optic systems, with a focus on lidar and lidar imaging. These designs encompassed various aspects such as high-speed receiver electronics, custom power supplies, and motion control.

Prior to joining Fibertek, Bill Gavert worked as a Staff Engineer at Lockheed Martin from September 1995 to September 1996. During this time, they were a member of the design team responsible for developing a high-speed solid-state recorder. Additionally, they provided support for other programs based on similar central processor board designs.

At the beginning of their career, Bill Gavert gained valuable experience as an Electronics Engineer at the US Army CERDEC Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) from August 1989 to September 1995. In this role, they were involved in the development and design of sensor systems for the US Army. Bill conducted research on new design approaches and technologies, while also managing budget requirements and project timelines.
