Birkir Gunnarsson

Birkir Gunnarsson is currently the VP of Digital Accessibility Engineering at Fidelity Investments. Previously, they served as the Electronic Accessibility Officer at Blindrafelagid, the Iceland Organization of the Visually Impaired, where they conducted web accessibility audits and participated in international accessibility initiatives. Birkir also held positions as a Senior Accessibility Consultant at Deque Systems, Inc., and as the Digital Accessibility Lead at BB&T, focusing on enhancing digital accessibility infrastructure and compliance. Earlier in their career, Birkir worked as an Education and Assistive Technology Consultant at the Iceland National Institute for the Blind, providing support and training in assistive technologies. Birkir earned a BS in Economics and Computer Science from Yale University.
