Michael Bean

Michael Bean, CFA, currently serves as Vice President of High Income & Alternatives Technology at Fidelity Investments since March 2016, leading the development of essential systems for deal origination, research, and portfolio management in high yield fixed income and alternatives investing. Previous experience includes roles as Director of Product Management at BrandsEye, where advanced machine learning analytics were utilized to enhance brand insights, and Senior Manager at Step Advisory, specializing in corporate innovation strategies for leading South African companies. Michael's background also includes positions in strategy consulting and business development, as well as an early career as an Electronic Engineer at IDX, recognized for expertise in Profibus Technology. Michael completed a CFA designation from the CFA Institute, an MBA in Entrepreneurship from GIBS Business School, and a BSc in Electrical and Computer Science from the University of Cape Town.
