Michael Bailey

Michael Bailey is an experienced professional in sports management, currently serving as the VAR Project Manager at FIFA since October 2021. Prior to this role, Michael worked at Football Australia from July 2014 to October 2021 in various capacities including Refereeing and VAR Operations Manager and Referee Operations Coordinator, where responsibilities encompassed managing refereeing department operations, implementing VAR systems, and coordinating logistics with clubs and broadcasters. Michael's earlier experience includes roles as a Match Day Referee Trainer and Massage Therapist with the National Rugby League and Football Federation Australia, where responsibilities involved athletic preparation for match officials. Michael holds a Diploma in Remedial Massage from TAFE NSW and a Higher School Certificate from Georges River College.
