Alejandro Varsky serves as the Director of Communications at FIFPRO since February 2021, where Alejandro leads the Communications Division representing 65,000 professional football players globally. Prior to this role, Alejandro spent nearly two decades at FIFA, starting as Lead Editor for the Spanish Channel of FIFA.com and advancing to Group Leader in the Digital Content & Production area, overseeing the development of digital content and driving revenue growth initiatives. Alejandro has also worked as a freelance writer for Diario Excelsior in Mexico and was the Content Manager for Dodici.com, the official website of Diego Maradona. Alejandro holds a degree from Tea y Deportea - Escuela de Periodismo, completed in 2000.

As the only global representative of footballers, we negotiate international rule changes with FIFA, leagues and clubs. With more players than ever working abroad, FIFPRO is more relevant than ever. We help coordinate support for players – and make sure their voices are heard. To best serve them, our staff are experts in subjects from sports law and football medicine to the personal development of athletes. We are a small dynamic organisation with a positive attitude. We believe in teamwork and freedom to share ideas and start initiatives. Although we have decision makers, we strive to make collective decisions. We update each other in weekly stand-ups and project insight moments, and we celebrate our successes together.
