Mark Salamango

Mark Salamango has a diverse work experience in various industries. Mark started their career in 1994 as a Computer Scientist in the US Army National Automotive Center, where they managed multiple projects and implemented year 2000 compliance on PCs. Mark then worked as a Technical Consultant at Silicon Graphics from 1998 to 2002, followed by a role as a Technical Consultant/Systems Engineer at SGI from 1999 to 2002.

In 2002, Mark joined the US Army as the Chief Pervasive Architect, where they developed in-vehicle architecture based on customer requirements and delivered several impactful projects. Mark also sold program and briefed high-ranking members of the Department of Defense.

After leaving the army, Mark worked as a Product Manager at BOSSdev and led the design and development of the enterprise software application Spinscape. In 2012, they became the Director of Agile Transformation at the University of Michigan Medical School, where they established the Project Management Office and led the department's Agile Transformation. Mark also created a development team that utilized Test Driven Development to deliver a mobile client and server application.

Starting in 2010, Mark served as the Director of RobotTown, a living laboratory for Robotic Technology in the Detroit area. The goal of RobotTown was to provide a space for learning, testing, and sharing knowledge about robotics.

Mark's most recent role, since April 2018, is as the Founder, Chief Technology Officer, and Board Member at Fifth Eye Inc. This company developed an FDA cleared early warning system that forecasts patient trajectory in hospital patients. The system provides real-time treatment feedback, continuous patient assessment, and historical trends interpretation without the need for electronic health record inputs.

Prior to their current role, Mark worked as the Chief Information Officer at the University of Michigan Center for Integrative Research in Critical Care from 2014 to 2018. During their tenure, they created a Big Data Hardware and Software Architecture to support machine learning analytics, built the infrastructure for the Critical Care Phenotypic Data Mart, and led the Analytic for Hemodynamic Instability project as a technical lead and product manager.

Mark Salamango has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan, which they attained from 1991 to 1997. Mark also holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Lawrence Technological University, achieved from 2005 to 2006. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
