Russell Newquist

Russell Newquist is a seasoned software engineer and entrepreneur with extensive experience in software development, engineering, and martial arts instruction. Currently serving as a Software Engineer at Figma since November 2023, Newquist previously held the position of Principal Software Engineer at Manticore Games Inc. and has been the Owner of Spirit Made Steel Dojo since 2016. Notable achievements include developing advanced 2D and 3D graphical rendering engines and real-time Geospatial Information Systems at enVention, as well as leading the design of the erGo compiler while serving as CEO and Lead Developer at Newquist Solutions, Inc. Newquist holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from The University of Alabama in Huntsville and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
