Sam Kenny

Sam Kenny is a data scientist currently working as a Staff Software Engineer at Figma, focusing on search, machine learning, and personalization. Previously, Sam held roles as a Senior Data Scientist and Staff Data Scientist at Faire, where they managed the Search - Query Understanding and Retrieval team and developed machine learning pipelines for various applications. Sam earned a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. They also completed a Data Science Fellowship at Insight Data Science, where they developed an SVM model for spam classification in online listings.
