Samir Goel

Samir Goel is the current Director of Engineering at Figma. Prior to this, they were an Engineering Manager at Dropbox where they oversaw the rewrite of Dropbox’s sync engine. Before that, they were a Staff Software Engineer at Google where they led the team that designed, implemented, and deployed a large scale, distributed key-value service. Samir has been working in the tech industry for over 15 years and has experience with some of the biggest companies in the world. Samir is a skilled engineer with a passion for building complex systems.

Samir Goel has a PhD in Computer Science from Rutgers University. Samir also has a M.Tech in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Samir completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science from S.G.S. Institute of Technology and Science.

They work with Josh Tabak - Engineering Manager, Jonas Sicking - Software Engineer, and Alejandro Marcu - Software Engineer. Their manager is Marcel Weekes, VP, Engineering.
