Ran Gu

Ran Gu is a Senior System Modeling Engineer specializing in Battery Management Systems at Figure since April 2025. Previously, Ran held positions as a Battery Algorithm Engineer at Apple from May 2022 to April 2025, and as a Senior Battery Control Engineer and Battery Engineer at Canoo between December 2018 and May 2022. Earlier experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship and Research Assistant role at McMaster University from September 2012 to October 2018, as well as a Research Assistant position at the Illinois Institute of Technology from July 2011 to May 2012. Ran Gu earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Battery Management System from McMaster University and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Power Electronics from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
