Sam Bright

Director, Program Strategy

Sam Bright is the Director of Program Strategy at FILE (Foundation for International Law for the Environment), where they focus on using the law to accelerate the energy transition, address climate change, and reduce pollution's impacts. Previously, Sam served as Head of Energy Transition at the same organization, and as an Energy Lawyer at ClientEarth, specializing in coal issues in Europe. Sam's legal background includes roles as an Associate at Clifford Chance LLP and as a Legal Adviser at Free Law, as well as research positions with the British Institute of International and Comparative Law and the Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust. Sam holds a Master’s Degree in Human Rights and International Law from UCL and dual Bachelor's Degrees in Jurisprudence and Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford.
