Simon Cueva

Simon Cueva is an esteemed economist and academic leader, currently serving as the Rector of Universidad Internacional del Ecuador. Cueva has held significant roles, including Minister of Economics and Finance for Ecuador from 2021 to 2022, and has been a Distinguished Fellow at the Finance for Development Lab at the Paris School of Economics since 2022. Cueva previously served as Academic Vicerrector at Universidad de las Américas Ecuador and held various positions, including Director at the Central Bank of Ecuador and Senior Economist with the International Monetary Fund. They hold a Master’s and PhD in Economics from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne.
