Families for individual Need and Dignity (FiND) is a company limited by guarantee and was registered with the Charities Commission on 23rd November 2001.

The charity was set up by parents who could not find the services they and their sons and daughters needed to meet their needs.

Initially FiND1 was developed to provide holiday activities and has run out of All Saints Parish Hall in North Ferriby. It provides fun activities during school holidays for young people over 12 who have profound learning disabilities. There is a charge of £25 per day, voluntary contributions and regular fund raising activities provide the bulk of the funding for this service.

As the young people grew older and left school, they required day services and FiND2 was set up in May 2010 at the Chandler Centre in Beverley. This service is funded through the use of personal budgets and direct payments. A person centred approach is used to ensure that everyone who attends is matched with a key worker and undertakes activities to meet their unique needs. The service is for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, and provides lifelong learning and skills development to achieve optimum independence. 

FiND3 was developed and opened in September 2011 based at Miriam House in Hessle, this was in response to need being expressed by a parent. This service has been developed to meet the needs of adults with learning disabilities and autism. The funding comes from personal budgets and direct payments. Like FiND2 this service focusses on developing personal, social and communication skills.

FiNDERS social club provides fun activities on Tuesday (FiND2 Beverley) and Wednesday (FiND3 Hessle) evenings. There is a small charge and the bulk of funding is through fundraising activities.
