Cheryl Selby has extensive experience working with individuals who have been impacted by the criminal justice system. Cheryl started their career as a Program Specialist at Hillcrest Baptist Church, where they coordinated a volunteer program to provide outreach to local jails and prisons. Cheryl also developed a funded program for ex-offenders, which inspired two other ongoing programs.

Cheryl then went on to found and serve as President of the non-profit organization Network for Life of Austin, Inc., where they assisted ex-offenders in re-entering the community. Cheryl also established The Overcomer's Group, a faith-based 12-step program, and Maggie's Home, a residence for women coming from prison.

In 2008, Cheryl joined Workforce Solutions - Capital Area as a Rapid Employment Model Career Counselor. In this role, they provided resources and job readiness workshops to individuals returning to Austin Community from prison. Cheryl also worked directly with newly released individuals from state-run facilities and had certification in Offender Workforce Development Specialist from the National Institute of Corrections.

Cheryl was also a Rapid Employment Model Program Specialist at Workforce Solutions Capital Area, where they worked with newly released individuals and went to jails and prisons to provide hope and support.

Cheryl's most recent role was as a Consultant at Self Employed Ex-Offender Consulting, where they used their experience and expertise to provide consulting services to ex-offenders.

Additionally, Cheryl worked as a Data Quality Specialist at Aunt Bertha, a Public Benefit Corporation, and as a Maggie's Home Resources Contractor at A New Entry, Inc., where they worked with homeless women.

Throughout their career, Cheryl has been dedicated to helping individuals with criminal backgrounds overcome barriers to employment and re-enter society successfully.

Cheryl Selby obtained a Bachelor's degree in Counseling Psychology from St. Edward's University between 2011 and 2015. Prior to that, they attended California State University, Long Beach from 1978 to 1981. It is not specified whether Cheryl Selby obtained any additional certifications or when and where they were obtained.
