Co-head Enforcement Proceedings at FINMA

Marc Mauerhofer has a diverse work experience, spanning over multiple industries and roles. Marc is currently working at the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA, where they have held various positions since 2012. Marc'smost recent role is as Co-Head of Enforcement Proceedings, which they started in April 2021. Prior to that, they served as Head of AML and Suitability from June 2016 to March 2021 and as a Senior Enforcement Specialist from September 2012 to May 2016.

Alongside their work at FINMA, Marc also holds a position as a Lecturer in Banking and Financial Markets Law at the Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg, which they started in March 2020.

Before their career at FINMA and the university, Marc worked as an Arbitration/Litigation Associate at Lenz & Staehelin from May 2010 to August 2012. Prior to that, they were a Research and Teaching Fellow at the University of Bern from February 2008 to April 2010.

Marc's professional journey began as a Law Clerk at the District Court Dielsdorf (Zurich) from January 2007 to November 2007. Marc then worked as a Junior Associate at Homburger from October 2005 to November 2006.

In 2014, Marc Mauerhofer expanded their academic horizons by becoming a Visiting Scholar at Columbia Law School. Marc furthered their academic pursuits in 2015 at the University of St.Gallen, where they participated in the Fit for Finance program. Marc continued their studies at the University of St.Gallen from 2015 to 2017, focusing on Management for the Legal Profession.
