Daniel Burnett

Daniel Burnett is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in promoting free expression and engaging with media. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Communications at the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression since January 2017, Daniel advocates for a culture of free speech. Previously, Daniel held the position of Media Relations Specialist at the International Food Policy Research Institute from June 2015 to December 2016, where efforts focused on gaining publicity for research addressing global hunger and poverty. Daniel also contributed as a Volunteer at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and served as Director of Communications at the American Council of Trustees and Alumni, significantly increasing the organization's media reach. Early career roles include Reporter at Patch.com and Editor-in-Chief at The Red & Black Newspaper. Daniel holds a degree in Journalism from The University of Georgia.
