Daniel Ortner

Attorney

Daniel Ortner is an experienced attorney currently serving at the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression since September 2022. Prior to this role, Daniel worked as an attorney at the Pacific Legal Foundation from September 2018 to September 2022 and held the position of Constitutional Law Fellow at Becket from September 2017 to August 2018. Daniel's judicial experience includes a law clerk position with Justice Kent A. Jordan at the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit from August 2016 to August 2017, and a law clerk role at the Utah Supreme Court from August 2015 to August 2016. Earlier legal experience includes positions as a summer law clerk at the Department of Justice and as a law clerk at the Utah Attorney General Office. Daniel's education includes a Doctor of Law (JD) from BYU Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology with a public health concentration from Brandeis University, where studies took place from 2006 to 2009.
