David Conway

Senior Engineer, Supplier Projects at Fire 1

David Conway has over seven years of experience in the engineering industry. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Student Mechanical Engineer at Arup, where they were responsible for projects such as HVAC systems, carbon-neutral design, cleanroom design, and ventilation and lighting layout. From 2013 to 2015, they worked at Boston Scientific as a Materials Scientist, where they were the technical lead in the QA/QC laboratory, the laboratory lead in technology transfer, and the Process Owner of Co-ordinate Measurement Machining (CMM). From 2015 to 2018, they worked at Zimmer Biomet as a Process Engineer, managing all phases of New Product Introduction and Design Transfer, developing and leading change for process specific and product specific PFMEAs, and troubleshooting initial manufacturing issues to improve yield. David is currently working at FIRE1 Foundry as a Senior Process Engineer and Process Engineer, where they are dedicated to improving outcomes for people suffering with chronic diseases.

David Conway has a diverse educational background. David obtained an Irish Leaving Certificate from Belvedere College S.J. in 2007. David then attended Trinity College Dublin from 2007 to 2012, earning a Bachelor in Engineering (BA, BAI) in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. In 2012, they earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Advanced Materials Science and Engineering from Imperial College London. David is currently enrolled in a Master of Business Administration - MBA program at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, which they are expected to complete in 2022. David is also planning to attend SDA Bocconi in 2022 to study Private Equity and Venture Capital. Additionally, in 2019 they obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
