James Tucker has over 10 years of work experience, beginning with a role as a Warehouse Operative at T O'Reilly Electrical Supplies Ltd in 2006. In 2013, they acted as a Camp Facilitator at the IT Tallaght Scratch Camp, and also took on a role as a Process Development Engineer at Bausch + Lomb. In 2014, they became a Research and Development Engineer at Trinity College Dublin, and then moved to PQ Bypass, Inc. in 2015 as a Product Engineer. In 2016, they returned to Trinity College Dublin as a Research and Development Engineer, and most recently, in 2018, they became a Senior R&D Engineer and R&D Engineer at FIRE1 Foundry.

James Tucker has a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from Technological University Dublin, which they obtained in 2012. James then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, which they completed in 2013. In addition, they have obtained a number of certifications, including Python Programming from UCD Professional Academy (2022), Foundations of Software Testing from University of Limerick (2020), Software Quality Assurance Standards (Medical Devices) from University of Limerick (2020), Anprolene EtO Steriliser Operation & Health and Safety from Andersen Products (2014), and Sports First Aid from Irish Heart Foundation (2012).
