Perry Lo

Perry Lo has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Perry is currently working as a Senior Front End Engineer at Firework, a position they started in November 2022. Prior to this, Perry worked at Bybit as a Frontend Team Lead, where they built and managed a team of 6 FE developers for the Cloud Business Unit. Perry utilized Vue and React to develop a white-label crypto exchange solution for fiat forex clients.

From 2009 to 2022, Perry worked at adacado inc. as a Senior Developer/Front-End Architect. Perry was responsible for leading front-end web development and UX design for their dynamic-creative ad generation/serving platform. Perry used Vue, HTML5, CSS3, and ES8 to build the current platform and employed micro-services strategies for both the front-end and back-end.

From 2000 to 2017, Perry served as a Webmaster/Instructor at the Shou-Yu Liang Wushu Taiji Qigong Institute, where they designed, built, and managed their official website. Perry used standard HTML, CSS, and JS with jQuery for convenience.

Perry's work experience also includes being a Developer and Co-Founder at Liquefy.ca from 2013 to 2016, where they designed and built the e-commerce front-end for an online B2B liquor marketplace. Perry utilized HTML, CSS, jQuery, and Bootstrap for this project.

From 2006 to 2009, Perry worked as a Web Developer - Senior Web Developer at HealthPricer Interactive. Perry implemented and maintained the entire front-end for HealthPricer.com, a premier price comparison engine for health products. Perry also conducted SEO and usability testing and adhered to a style guide that they helped create.

Perry's earlier work experience includes being a Web Developer at One Person Health from 2004 to 2006, where they took over front-end development and maintenance for the company. Perry implemented a dynamic lifestyle/diet questionnaire and worked closely with an Art Director/Designer to redesign the website. Perry primarily worked with JSP, HTML, CSS, JS, and MySQL for this role.

In 2003, Perry worked as a Front-End Web Developer at Swift Innovation Inc., where they designed and implemented the front-end for a pre-LinkedIn contact management system. Perry extensively used JS and AJAX during this time.

Perry's first professional role was as a Website Coordinator at VanCity Credit Union from 2001 to 2003. In this position, they managed content and HTML mark-up for the entire Vancity.com banking website, which included over 500 pages of content across various financial departments.

Perry Lo began their education at The University of British Columbia in 1993, where they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Geological Engineering. Perry completed this degree six years later, in 1999. In 2001, Perry enrolled again at The University of British Columbia, but this time for a Certification program in Web Publishing, which they completed in 2003. Alongside their academic pursuits, Perry also dedicated time to martial arts training at the Shou-Yu Liang Wushu Taiji Qigong Institute, where they achieved a 2nd Degree Black Belt.
