Sherif Matta

Sherif Matta has over 9 years of experience in the software development industry. Sherif is currently working as a Technical Lead at Firework since September 2021, where they are responsible for leading technical projects. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Frontend Developer at Firework from November 2020 to September 2021.

Before joining Firework, Sherif worked as a Frontend Lead Developer at Briza - Delivering commercial insurance to the world from September 2019 to October 2020. In this role, they built the front end to connect small businesses to insurance companies using Vue.

From December 2017 to September 2019, Sherif worked as a Development Team Lead at Sym-Tech Dealer Services. Sherif led a team in developing a dealership facing portal used by VW/Audi Canada. Prior to this, they worked as a Full Stack Developer at Sym-Tech from March 2015 to December 2017, where they developed a claim adjudication system utilizing the METEOR JS framework, Angular JS, and MongoDB back-end. Sherif also introduced new CI/CD tools to enhance workflow and increase productivity.

Before joining Sym-Tech, Sherif worked as a Programming Manager at On|Research Inc. from 2011 to March 2015. In this role, they participated in all phases of the Programming and QA Lifecycles and developed and implemented online survey/research projects.

Sherif started their career as a Senior/Project Lead Software Developer at Techstream software corporation from 2007 to 2011. In this role, they trained end users, interacted with technical and non-technical users, and prepared major system design proposals.

Sherif Matta attended Centennial College from 2002 to 2006, where they pursued a degree in computer programming/system analyst with a focus on software development. In June 2017, they obtained a certification in Leadership Foundations from Lynda.com.
