Marcel Fernández

Marcel Fernández has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Marcel started working as a Professional Photographer at Photos by Marcel Fernandez in 2013 after graduating from the Superior Institute of Design in Cuba. Marcel also worked as a Design and Photography Professor at the institute until 2016. During this time, Marcel collaborated with several magazines, press media, and Grammy Award-winning musicians as a photographer. Marcel also organized and instructed photographic workshops in Cuba.

In 2014, Marcel joined Leoni Torres, Torres Productions as a Photographer and Graphic Designer, where they worked until 2021. Marcel then worked as a Consultant Designer at Xpandable.io from November 2018 to August 2020. Additionally, Marcel gained experience as a Lead Graphic Designer at RIUDI PELUQUEROS, INC in 2017 and as a Graphic Designer and UI/UX Designer at Cubaism Ltd from 2016 to 2017.

Marcel's expertise includes UI/UX design, graphic design, and project management. Marcel has 7+ years of experience as a UI/UX and Digital Product Designer, designing and developing mobile apps, responsive websites, and landing pages. Marcel'sdesign process includes creating site maps, content models, sketches, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.

In 2018, Marcel joined First Due as the Head of Design. In this role, they oversee design projects from conception to implementation, ensuring that the design solutions align with marketing strategies and business goals. Marcel is responsible for designing original pieces, including mockups and prototypes.

Marcel also has experience as a freelance graphic designer from 2013 to 2018 and as a University Professor at the Instituto Superior de Diseño (ISDi) from 2013 to 2016. As a professor, they taught various design disciplines, including UI/UX design, typography, photography, Photoshop, and editorial design. Marcel also assisted with the development of course material and tutored degree theses.

Marcel Fernández pursued a Master's degree in Product design from 2021 to 2022 at CEI Escuela de Diseño y Marketing. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2013, Marcel completed a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design with a specialization in Graphic Design at Instituto Superior de Diseño ISDi.
