Michael Koontz

Michael Koontz has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Michael is currently the Director of Product Management at First Due, starting in January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Mark43 as the Director Of Product, International from June 2019 to June 2022.

Between 2007 and 2019, they held multiple roles at SunGard Public Sector, including Professional Services Leader, where they worked as a liaison with states to identify and implement changes in public safety software. During the same period, they also worked at CentralSquare Technologies as a Product Manager.

Before that, they started their own company, Koontz Inc., in 2004, where they provided consulting services and equipment installation and maintenance. Michael was the President of the company until December 2018.

Michael'sprevious experience includes working at Sprint as an Account Executive and pre-sales engineering specializing in VoIP technologies/systems from November 1998 to July 2004. Michael also worked as a Trainer at Walker & Associates from November 1996 to November 1998.

Michael'searly experience includes working at the Forsyth County Fire Department as a Telecommunications and Fire Suppression Officer from October 1989 to May 1995, where they held certifications in E911 Telecommunicator and NC Level II Fire Instructor.
