Will Leonard

Will Leonard (PhD) is an accomplished geoscientist with extensive experience in exploration and production geology within the minerals and petroleum industries. Currently, Will serves as Lead Geologist for sediment-hosted copper lead global generative projects at First Quantum Minerals since January 2020. Prior experience includes senior consultation for greenfield base metal opportunities and a notable tenure at ExxonMobil, where Will held various senior roles, including Lead Regional Exploration Geologist in the Asia Pacific and Lead Production Geologist for significant projects, achieving substantial production increases. Academic credentials include a PhD focused on sedimentary-hosted base metal mineralization from the University of Melbourne, accompanied by a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Geology/Earth Science from the same institution.
