About Us

First Responder (Ghana) is a pioneering smartphone application designed to revolutionize emergency response for cardiac arrest victims. Our innovative app enables trained first responders to reach cardiac arrest patients more than three minutes before emergency services, significantly increasing the chances of survival. With each minute of delay reducing the survival rate by 10%, our app bridges the critical gap between cardiac arrest and the initiation of life-saving measures.

How It Works

Leveraging advanced GPS tracking technology, the First Responder App seamlessly integrates with existing emergency services to locate and guide the nearest trained "app rescuers" to the scene. Upon receiving an emergency call or alert, the operator dispatches the emergency crew and simultaneously alerts nearby app rescuers. The quickest responder receives real-time directions to the patient, ensuring rapid delivery of CPR. Additional responders can bring automated external defibrillators (AEDs) from strategically placed locations such as schools, community centers, churches, police stations and transportation hubs.

Our Impact

In Ghana, bystander resuscitation occurs in just 30-60% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest cases. Our mission is to increase this rate and reduce the time to resuscitation. By empowering everyday citizens to become first responders, we aim to significantly enhance survival rates and reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease in our communities.
