Dan Mao

Dan Mao has over a decade of experience in analytical sciences, currently serving as the Head of Analytical Sciences at First Solar since June 2012. In this role, Dan leads multidisciplinary teams to advance technology development through material characterizations and data analytics. Previously, Dan held positions as Sr Manager of Research Data Analytics and Material Characterizations, where efforts included establishing an R&D data ecosystem and managing material characterization across multiple sites. Additionally, Dan has experience managing large teams and developing innovative analytical methods during tenure as Manager of Material Analysis and Senior Development Engineer. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Penn State University and a B.S. in Applied Chemistry from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
