Buford played a pivotal role in growing the company's presence in Japan, including closing its first-ever sales for a new product line. Prior to this, Buford led the acquisition of TetraSun while serving as Product Line Director, focusing on commercial aspects of a new high-efficiency solar cell technology. Buford’s earlier experience includes leading global strategy for First Solar, significantly contributing to a major product offering that set a de facto standard for US deployments. Additional roles include corporate development at Amazon.com and investments at Partech Ventures and Battery Ventures. Buford holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and has a background in education from Stanford University.
