First Teacher was deliberately founded in Roxbury and Dorchester where people are living under the insidious footprint of both the historical and daily impacts of racism. At First Teacher, we seek to actively dispel the myth that Black and Brown children need to be saved; rather, their powerful parents need to be supported and loved through a powerful community that, together, fights systems which may harm their children.

At First Teacher, we use a collaborative model, placing parents and caregivers along with their expertise and experience at the center of what we do.
