Tomas Garces is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in the engineering and design sector. Currently serving as Principal Design Manager at GE Appliances, a Haier company, since March 2021, Tomas has also held the position of Lead Design Engineer at FirstBuild, GE, since February 2014. Prior to these roles, Tomas worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer for GE from June 2010 to February 2014 and completed the Edison Engineering Development Program during their tenure at GE from January 2008 to August 2009 as an Engineering Co-op. Tomas holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida, completed in 2010.

FirstBuild will then manufacture those designs in its Microfactory for rapid productintroduction and iteration. This partnership will pioneer the future of work with a new model for inventing, building and bringing the next generation of major appliances to the market.
