Former Managing Director, Healthcare, Accenture Canada | Former Venture Partner And Lp, Igan Partners at FirstHx

Joel Finlayson has an extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Joel currently holds the position of Partner at iGan Partners, which is Canada's largest healthcare venture capital firm. In addition to being the CEO of a new iGan-led Digital Health Roll-Up, they lead the team in the Middle East and serves as a member of the Investment Committee. Joel is also a Director at Curv Health and Okadoc, and an Observer at Marble.

Joel also has experience at Creative Destruction Lab, where they worked as an Associate in the Healthcare Stream. Joel serves as a Board Member at FirstHx, as well as a Board Observer at Curv Health and Okadoc. Joel is also a Venture Advisor at Storytime Capital.

Prior to their current roles, Joel was a Managing Director at Accenture, where they played a key role in building and growing a healthcare consulting practice. Joel was responsible for initiating the acquisition of GEVITY and launching a new Private Sector Healthcare practice focused on the Retail Care sector in Canada.

Before joining Accenture, Joel served as a Director at SomaDetect, a technology company in the healthcare sector. Joel also served as a Board Member at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Joel Finlayson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics & Political Science from Dalhousie University. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Cambridge. Joel also completed the Global Health Leadership Program, focusing on Healthcare Policy and Economics, at the University of California, Berkeley. Recently, they attended INSEAD to pursue a program called "Innovating Health for Tomorrow."
