Carolin Meier is the Chief Wine Officer at Firstleaf. Carolin previously worked as the Director of Wine Operations for Tavistock Restaurants LLC from April 2009 to August 2014. Carolin is responsible for overseeing and supporting the leadership of a $20 million revenue stream for a multi-concept national restaurant group. This role includes negotiating with producers and suppliers for national list placements and marketing support, rollout of new initiatives, product launch and training, wine list analytics, sales and cost of goods management and operational leadership. In their first year of working in this role, they were able to reduce the cost of goods by 4% and the number of redundant inventory items by 27%.

Carolin has also been responsible for sourcing, establishing, launching, training and managing a private label ‘reserve’ quality collection of wine. Carolin has also established national vendor partnerships and been in charge of mandated placements and marketing support. Furthermore, Carolin has developed and executed strategic operational support for the Tavistock Restaurants COO and Regional Leadership.

Carolin Meier pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Crafts/Craft Design, Graphic Design from The University of the Arts. Carolin then went on to study Web Technologies Masters Cert Courses in Web Page, Digital/Multimedia and Information Resources Design from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Carolin is certified as a Hospitality/Beverage Specialist from the Society of Wine Educators and as a WSET II from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.

Carolin Meier reports to Philip James, Chief Executive Officer. They are on a team with Eric Smith - Chief Technology Officer, Erik Steigler - Chief Architect, and Kunal Thakkar - Chief Operating Officer.
