Erik Steigler

Erik Steigler is the Chief Architect at Firstleaf. Erik has over a decade of experience in systems administration and automation. Erik joined Sailthru in June 2014 as a Senior Systems Administrator. During their time at Sailthru, they saved the company over $100K/month in AWS spending by auditing their use of machines and removing legacy instances and snapshots. Erik also developed an internal tool to automatically register data about a newly installed machine and hand out hostnames and ip assignments. In addition, they lead the conversion to Ansible, along with the simplification of their configuration management stack. Erik also took the lead on refactoring and extending our legacy Chef setup during the datacenter move. Furthermore, they lead efforts on analyzing the impact and creating a plan to patch large scale security vulnerabilities such as GHOST. Lastly, they built the initial kickstart install and configured tools to go with it (bootp, tftp, etc).

Erik Steigler has a BS in Information Science & Technology from Penn State University. Erik is certified from Cisco in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

Erik Steigler reports to Philip James, Chief Executive Officer. They are on a team with Greg Kryder - Chief Financial Officer, Eric Smith - Chief Technology Officer, and Geoffrey Sanders - Chief Marketing Officer.
