Steven Leach

Steven Leach is a Senior Fishery Biologist at FirstLight Power Resources, Inc., since December 2018, focusing on fish passage and aquatic resources licensing for hydroelectric facilities in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Prior to this role, Steven served as a Senior Scientist at Normandeau Associates, Inc. from June 2006 to December 2018, providing environmental consulting services and emphasizing fish passage and protection measures. Earlier experience includes serving as a Fisheries Biologist for the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources from 1999 to 2006, where research on diadromous fish restoration and shortnose sturgeon studies was conducted. Steven's career began as a Faculty Research Assistant at Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, working on Chesapeake Bay trophic interactions and anadromous fish early life history from 1994 to 1999. Steven obtained a Master of Science in Oceanography and Coastal Science from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Elon University.
