Eric Gustafson

Vice President, Network Operations Center & Network Assurance at FirstLight

Eric Gustafson has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Eric started as an Intern/Application Engineer at ITT Industries in 2008. Eric then interned as a Telecommunications Database Reporting Intern at Paychex in 2009. Gustafson joined Finger Lakes Technologies Group in 2010, where they worked as a Network Engineer, contributing to both ILEC and CLEC. Eric was later promoted to Manager of Network and Carrier Services in 2014. In 2018, Gustafson joined FirstLight Fiber as the Manager of Network and Carrier Services. Eric then held various leadership roles, including Director NOC, Commercial Repair, Vice President of Customer Repair, and Vice President of Network Operations Center & Network Assurance.

Eric Gustafson completed an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the same institution in 2010. Eric also holds an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Monroe Community College, which they completed in 2008. In addition, Eric Gustafson has obtained several certifications, including an ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice in 2015, a Calix E-Series System Specialist certification from Calix in 2013, and a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification from Cisco in 2012. Eric has also acquired various specialist certifications from Calix, including Calix E7 Active Ethernet Specialist, Calix E7 GPON Specialist, and Calix Ethernet Access Network Specialist.
